1970 Cougar Eliminator 428CJ – Now for sale

This is one of our personal cars we completed a concours restoration in 2010. Equipped with a 428CJ engine with C6 automatic and factory air conditioning. Decore interior using NOS materials.  Originally from California this is one of the cleanest bodied cars we have done. All panels are original except for the NOS front and rear valances. Extensive list of NOS parts used during the restoration.

As of August 12, 2017 this car is available for purchase. Private party price is $135K.  If taken to auction, will be much more to cover fees.  Hagerty shows the value at $179,300.   I have a bunch more pictures including the entire restoration process.  Please email or call for more information.

I purchased this car back in 2006.  The body was in exceptional condition and only required one small rust repair behind the right wheel about 3″X3″.  Everything else is the original metal.  Here are a few photos of the car when purchased.

During the disassembly we found the original build sheet along with super nice sheet metal. Detailed photos were taken of all the blacked out areas and undercoating patterns.  Then it was plastic media blasted and sent to the body shop.

Automotive Images in Tacoma, WA handled the body and paint part of the project. I’ve used them for almost 20 years and have always received a fantastic job.

Next up is reassembly.
